The White House Council for Community Solutions Issues Final Report

After holding its final summit, the White House Council for Community Solutions released its report, “Community Solutions for Opportunity Youth.” By Executive Order in December 2010, President Obama created the White House Council for Community Solutions to help identify and raise awareness of effective community-led solutions to our nation’s most serious problems.

The report presents four recommendations for successful community-led solutions across the nation:

  1. Driving development of more successful community collaboratives to harness the potential of these young people;
  2. Creating shared national responsibility and accountability;
  3. Engaging youth as leaders in the solution; and
  4. Creating more robust on-ramps to employment.
